About Community Players, Inc.

Community Players, Inc. is a non-profit, volunteer run, donor sustained organization. It has been our pleasure to provide entertainment to Sulphur Springs and the surrounding areas for 40+ years! In addition to our primary mission of furthering the Arts, we strive to provide opportunities to aspiring actors and actresses, as well as persons interested in the “behind the scenes” workings of theatre. There is no cost to be in our productions (except nominal fees for workshops) and newcomers are encouraged to try out!

We also bring opportunity and fun to the children of Sulphur Springs and the surrounding area by offering a "Children’s Workshop” during the summer season. This has been a very successful endeavor that allows our children the chance to see what happens throughout the production of a play from start to finish, as well as give them the opportunity to perform or control the backstage elements of a performance.

ONLINE BOX OFFICE

Based on a true story, Trifles by Susan Glaspell is not so much a "who-done-it" as it is a "why-done-it". Having premiered in 1916, this one act play sets out to discover what led to the odd death of a farmer who was strangled in his sleep - his wife claims to have slept through it... You be the judge!

This play will feature a special musical performance as the first act, and the play as the second act with an intermission between.

Construction to our facilities is still ongoing. While we have re-opened for events, we will continue to make improvements to the inside of our facilities as funds are available. We still have finishing touches to complete in our lobby, and our next big project is to replace our old, existing HVAC units and add an additional unit for the lobby. We are grateful to our supporters who have helped in so many ways to ensure that we are able to continue our mission in Sulphur Springs. Please enjoy some photos of the construction process below.
